I'm Kayla and I'm psyched that you're here!
I'm on a mission to help women get off the dieting and body-hating hampster wheel (did you know the average woman spends 17 years of her life dieting? Yikes!) and on to the hormone-loving and self-nurturing train through body literacy and becoming their own health advocate.
I want to show you how to fall in love with your hormones because when you live in partnership with your hormones, life gets a whole lot lovelier!
I became fascinated by the interconnections between hormones and the many bodily functions they influence after seeing a Naturopathic Doctor. She showed me how my problems all stemmed from my adrenals and thyroid.
I was in the infancy of my professional training at the time with no idea of what area I wanted to specialize in and that's how I arrived at hormones - through discovering their impact on the way we feel physically and mentally.
I was already on a path to wellness at the time but it wasn't until I began addressing my hormones that I went from feeling anxious, dizzy, and irritable to calm, focused and clear.
I've been helping women in my practice experience the same outcome ever since.
Whether you're dealing with fatigue, weight loss resistance, digestive problems, acne, mood issues, low motivation, or reproductive issues I'm here to tell you you don't have to suffer anymore. A functional approach can be your key to experiencing your best self!
I initially received my formal training through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, where I became Certified in Holistic Nutrition.
I've had advanced training in hormone and endocrinology through Josh Gitalis and Lorene Sauro.
I then deepened my understanding of women’s hormonal health at the Integrative Women’s Health Institute.
I am a member of the Canadian Association of Holistic Nutrition Professionals.
I'm currently working toward becoming certified as a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P).
